Breaking news has just come in on Friday, November 3 that Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah is currently giving a speech to thousands of people that have gathered in Beirut’s southern suburbs. The event is expected to be massive, as this is the first time Nasrallah is speaking on the Israel-Hamas war.

His speech was highly anticipated as it could determine whether the conflict would spiral into a regional war or not.

On the same day that Nasrallah delivered his speech, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid a visit to Israel. There have been military clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces on the border since October 7th, however they have been kept at a level where full-scale war was avoided until now.

Nasrallah’s speech and Blinken’s visit are important indicators for what is likely to happen next between Israel and Hamas – two entities whose relationship has long been strained with neither side willing to compromise or back down from their demands. It appears that both sides are still trying to reach some kind of agreement but this could be difficult given all the tensions between them.

Moreover, if the situation between Israel and Hamas does escalate further then it could lead to further military action by Hezbollah against Israeli forces on their border with Lebanon which would only add fuel to an already volatile situation. It also means that other countries such as Iran may become more involved in order to protect their interests in the region which could result in yet more international tension over an already delicate issue.

Nasrallah began his speech by offering condolences to those lost in battle before stating:

“This is a seamless battle at the human, ethical and religious levels. It’s the most evident, the most honest and the most noble. Our true strength lies in our firm belief, unshaken conviction, our devotion and commitment to the cause.”
