When it comes to the mainstream media, many of us have heard the whispers about its left-leaning bias.
However, CBS overseas reporter Lara Logan opened up a curtain to reveal what may be behind this bias in an interview with Mike Drop and Mike Ritland.
In her words, she painted a troubling picture of the mainstream media landscape, noting that “the more opinions you have, the more ways that you look at everything in life.” Here is why Republicans should be concerned about this one-sidedness.
In her interview with Mike Drop and Mike Ritland, Logan made it clear that not only is the U.S. media predominantly liberal but so too is the media around the world.
To illustrate her point she used an example from Israel where women had “this tiny little spot in front of the wall to pray” while most of it was for men – showing how few conservative voices there are out there compared to liberal ones.
But why is this happening?
As Logan pointed out, when you look at schools such as Ivy League institutions or Northwestern University which produce top journalists they are filled with liberal professors who tend to push their own agenda onto students – making them become left leaning activists themselves once they graduate and enter into journalism fields.
Unless we fix this problem then we will always face an issue with our media being biased towards one side over another which can lead to misinformation and confusion among citizens who rely on news outlets for their information.
As Republicans we must stand together against having a state-run media system run by liberals as Logan has put forth in her interview, instead we need balance within our media landscape so that everyone can make informed decisions based on facts rather than opinionated pieces from one side or another – regardless of political beliefs or ideologies held by those writing these articles or reports.
This balance can only come if both sides are present enough within our current news sources so that viewers get unbiased coverage on all topics without any slant either way, until then misinformation will continue to reign supreme as people use biased sources to form their own beliefs rather than getting accurate facts.
