Senator John Tester (D-MT) is about to be in the battle of his political life.
Tester has occupied his current seat for almost two decades.
That seat is now being challenged by a former Navy SEAL.

Montana is generally considered a red state, but there are pockets of liberals that have allowed Tester to get elected and continue to be re-elected since 2007.
Tim Sheehy is hoping to change that.
Sheehy checks all the hero boxes that conservatives love to see.
He is a businessman, a firefighting pilot, and a former Navy SEAL.
Sheehy stated, “From inflation to our border to our deficit, America is ready for change.
“And I think it’s time for a new generation of leaders to step up.
“Leaders who understand servant leadership, which is putting the mission before yourself, and leaders who understand how to get results.
“I think Americans are feeling underrepresented.
“They’re tired of a government that they don’t feel is working for them.”
I like everything the man says except for referring to himself as a “leader” while running for office.
He did temper that by saying “servant leadership,” so I might give him a pass.
We elect representation in this country, not leaders, and I will never understand how Republican candidates always seem to fail to recognize this.
