Another officer has lost his life at the hands of a common thug.
Brackenridge Police Chief Justin McIntire was killed during a shootout with a suspect who was wanted on a probation violation.
Another officer was also injured.
The suspect, Aaron Lamont Swan, was eventually caught, shot, and killed during an altercation with Pittsburgh police.
The Ultimate Sacrifice
Police had found Swan and were going to take him in for a parole violation when he took off on foot, eventually with a gunfight taking place.
Chief McIntire was shot in the head and killed.
Swan got away, stole a car, but was eventually spotted by Pittsburgh detectives.
He crashed the car and opened fire on those officers, but they were able to put him down.
