Michigan Republican prospects attempting to unseat incumbent Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer are slamming her for describing females as “menstruating individuals.”

Whitmer made the remarks throughout an online occasion with the Michigan Democratic Party, in reaction to a concern about a proposed modification to the state constitution that would secure females’ access to abortion if the Supreme Court, as anticipated, guidelines on a Mississippi abortion case that would efficiently reverse Roe v. Wade.

“I have the constitutional ability to bring a lawsuit to protect constitutional rights of people of Michigan,” Whitmer responded. “So I brought a lawsuit on behalf of all the menstruating people in Michigan – 2.2 million. And another tool I have is to go straight to our state Supreme Court.”

Whitmer’s phrasing aligns with an ongoing effort by progressive members of the Democratic Party attempting to place themselves as inclusive of all individuals who can menstruate and give birth to children.

The proposed change will appear on the ballot just if a minimum variety of petition signatures needed by state law are gotten and licensed by the state board of canvassers by July 11.

“Has the left gone insane?,” GOP candidate for governor Tudor Dixon told Fox News. “Menstruating people? Drag queens in every school? This is not normal behavior. Someone needs to check the Democratic Party. It’s starting to seem like COVID was more like mad cow disease,”

Dixon has described a current declaration from Democratic Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, who said there should be a “drag queen for every school.”

“Drag queens make everything better. Drag queens are fun,” Nessel said, according to Craig Mauger of The Detroit News.

“A drag queen for every school,” she added.

Candidate Ralph Rebandt, a Michigan pastor, informed Fox that the U.S. Declaration of Independence addresses “the laws of Nature and Nature’s God.”

Whitmer’s rhetoric, he said, is “evidence of a moral collapse in our society.”

A representative for Businessman Kevin Rinke, another GOP gubernatorial candidate, stated Whitmer’s remarks show that she  “and her entire administration has shown they are on the extreme, fringe Left when it comes to every issue.”

The candidates will compete in the Michigan primary set for August 2.
