Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has announced criminal referrals for two members of the intelligence community who have allegedly been caught leaking classified information to The New York Times and the Washington Post.
On April 23, Gabbard referred two intelligence community members to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for prosecution. According to one official, these criminal referrals should serve “as a warning” to other intelligence community members who consider leaking classified information to the media.
An exclusive report from Fox News Digital reveals that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) accuses these two “intelligence community professionals” of leaking “classified information to the Washington Post and The New York Times,” while another person is also being investigated for similar crimes and will be referred to the DOJ soon.
Speaking to the outlet, Gabbard issued a strong warning to the rest of the “deep-state criminals” in the intelligence community, stating: “Politicization of our intelligence and leaking classified information puts our nation’s security at risk and must end. Those who leak classified information will be found and held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
“Today, I referred two intelligence community leakers to the Department of Justice for criminal referral, with a third criminal referral on its way, which includes the recent illegal leak to the Washington Post,” she added. “These deep-state criminals leaked classified information for partisan political purposes to undermine President Trump’s agenda.”
Gabbard also told Fox News Digital that she is looking “forward to working with the Department of Justice and the FBI to investigate, terminate and prosecute these criminals.”

This news comes after numerous federal agencies under the Trump administration have faced leaks that were designed to undermine the agenda of President Donald Trump, as well as numerous other leaks that were designed to harm Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s credibility, with many speculating that the deep state is growing desperate to force Hegseth’s ouster. Despite those efforts, the White House has repeatedly stated that they stand behind Hegseth, and have called out the mainstream media’s lies.
NBC asked if firing leakers is bad management. 🤡 That’s like asking if locking your door is rude to burglars. This is why legacy media’s dying🤷🏼♀️they can’t even grasp basic logic. pic.twitter.com/i3nfnlQsTI
