A leftist climate cultist was arrested inside Trump Tower in New York City on April 23 after he vandalized the presidential insignia in the building’s lobby.
The activist has been identified as 36-year-old Nathaniel Smith, a Brooklyn resident, according to a statement from the New York Police Department (NYPD) obtained by Fox News Digital.
Smith was caught on video using green spray paint to vandalize the sign, writing “USA” over the “45” on the presidential insignia. He then unfurled a banner with the logo of the radical climate cultist group Extinction Rebellion, which had the words “game over” written across it.
“This is our country. This is our planet,” he shouted as he was taken away by police in footage captured by Oliya Scootercaster. “You cannot ruin it without comment. They are ruining the planet for profit.”
Unfortunately for the climate activist, onlookers were not happy with his actions, with one man stating: “What a f—king piece of sh—t, bro.” Another was heard saying: “I hope they take you downstairs and beat your ass.”

U.S. Secret Service spokesman James Byrne issued a statement about the incident to local news outlet amNY.
“The US Secret Service is aware of an incident involving a person spray painting graffiti inside the public lobby of Trump Tower in New York City,” the statement read. “There are no disruptions to protective operations. We thank the NYPD for their immediate response and unwavering partnership.”
Meanwhile, Smith issued a statement that was shared on X by the official Extinction Rebellion account. “I did this because I am an American. It is my duty to stand up for my country, and my Earth, when a government becomes destructive of our right to Life,” he claimed in the statement. “Donald Trump and the regime of private interests he works for—who donate equally to each party—are destructive of your inalienable right to Life. All American political parties are equally complicit in inaction which has brought us to this point. Switching to blue is not the solve. Kamala Harris’ climate platform was fracked gas, much deadlier than regular.”

This “protest” comes just one day after police arrested an unidentified 30-year-old “disorderly person” who was on top of an “elevated surface” in Trump Tower.
