It would appear that Hunter Biden’s hope of having his father pardon him on his way out the door is gone.
After Hunter Biden pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges this week, it was only natural that the media wanted to know if Biden changed his mind about pardoning his son.
Once again, however, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was adamant that a pardon for Hunter Biden would not happen while Joe Biden was in office.
Needs Kamala to Win
With Hunter having pleaded guilty, he is now putting his faith in the judge and prosecutors not to send him to jail.
His hopes were that he would accept a plea without admitting guilt, but prosecutors shot down that idea.
Now, there is the chance that Hunter could do time, but something tells me the judge and prosecutors are not going to get overly aggressive sentencing Hunter in this case.
But whatever that sentence is, he will have to serve it, at least initially.
When Jean-Pierre was asked if Joe would be pardoning his little angel, she responded, “It’s no, it’s still a no.”
She added, “I’m not able to comment on it, but I can say that it is still very much a ‘no’ to the questions I have gotten about if the president is going to pardon [Hunter].”
Nobody has asked Kamala her plans yet, and I don’t quite understand why.
My guess is that Hunter hopes Kamala will win, and regardless of his sentence, it will be wiped from his record as soon as she takes office.
If not, Hunter is likely to serve his full sentence unless Donald Trump is feeling generous.
As a matter of fact, I would like to hear Trump asked that question as well because it would be interesting to see if he would be willing to throw Dems another peace offering in the form of a Hunter pardon.
If Trump does that, it could cost him support after all the money Congress has spent investigating him.
My preference would be that if a judge sentences him to jail, he does every day of that sentence.
