During the early stages of the election, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) was considered to be a favorite among the VP candidates for Donald Trump.
As you guys know, I never even looked at him, believing that Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) or Senator JD Vance (R-OH) were the frontrunners.
Cotton is back in the news due to his fierce defense of Trump after shots were taken at him by the Harris campaign and Joe Biden.
Not a Publicity Stunt
Donald Trump has been taking a lot of heat over his visit to Arlington National Cemetery last week to honor the 13 soldiers who died in Afghanistan during Joe Biden’s withdrawal.
Trump was an invited guest of seven of the families, who had requested to take pictures with Trump after the ceremony.
There was reportedly an altercation at the cemetery between a Trump staffer and a cemetery staffer, but no charges were filed.
Harris issued a blistering statement against Trump, as did Joe Biden, and the media just poured on even more gasoline.
Enter Cotton, who stated, “He didn’t take campaign photos there. These families — Gold Star families — whose children died due to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s incompetence, invited him to the cemetery, and they asked him to take those photos… You know who those families also invited? Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — where were they?
“Joe Biden was sitting at a beach. Kamala Harris was sitting at her mansion in Washington, DC. She was four miles away — ten minutes.
“She could’ve gone to the cemetery and honor the sacrifice of those young men and women, but she hasn’t.
“She never has spoken to them or taken a meeting with them.
“It is because of her and Joe Biden’s incompetence that those 13 Americans were killed in Afghanistan.”
Cotton may have gotten one thing wrong in that I don’t believe the families invited Harris or Biden to the event, but other than that, he was dead on.
There is also no excuse for Biden and Harris not to have reached out to these families since the death of their children.
I would say that is especially the case since they are so quick to call the parents and family of criminals shot dead by police officers.
Once again, they have shown us where their loyalties lie, and they surely are not with our troops or the law-abiding citizens of this country.
