Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle oversaw one of the worst security breakdowns in the agency’s history.
After the assassination attempt against Donald Trump, the first thing Director Cheatle did was point the finger at local law enforcement.
She has been backtracking and spinning ever since, which has resulted in numerous calls for her to step down from her position, but she is being defiant and refusing to go.
Complete Mission Failure
We have now had a few days to look at the tapes and break down everything that went wrong.
It starts with the building coverage, and goes all the way through the cover and transport move.
I would garner to say that it is the worst execution we have ever seen by the Secret Service since it started covering candidates and government officials in 1901.
When people asked for an explanation as to why the rooftop where the shooter set up was not covered, Cheatle stated, “In this particular instance, we did share support for that particular site and that the Secret Service was responsible for the inner perimeter.
“And then we sought assistance from our local counterparts for the outer perimeter.
“There was local police in that building — there was local police in the area that were responsible for the outer perimeter of the building.”
She later admitted the buck stops with her, but we have yet to be given an adequate answer by Cheatle as to why the breakdown occurred that day.
This has led to multiple requests for her resignation, but Cheatle has refused to step down, with her office issuing a formal statement that she plans on staying in, which Cheatle confirmed during a recent interview.
Honestly, with the debacle that took place, and reports now that DHS officers were subbing for Secret Service detail, her resignation is not an option.
Joe Biden needs to fire this woman, but we all know Joe Biden doesn’t fire anyone.
Just ask Defense Secretary Austin who disappeared for about a week and never told anyone he was turning over some of his office’s powers to his deputy.
This woman is a disgrace and every moment she stays at her post makes this country less safe.
