Several Trump allies were indicted for their roles in disputing the 2020 election. An Arizona grand jury mentioned former attorney and New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former Arizona Republican Chair Kelli Ward, and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows were in trouble. Former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis and former campaign advisor Boris Epshteyn were also in the bullseye.
Arizona Republicans not spared
Several members of the Arizona Republican party were indicted as well. Meadows, Giuliani, Ellis, and Epshteyn all helped Trump receive Arizona electoral votes over three years ago.
Two Republican Senators, Jake Hoffman and Anthony Kern were hit with charges for signing paperwork that said Trump won the election. This happens as Biden is shown by Bloomberg to be trailing in the polls for several swing states, Arizona included, by at least six points.
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the indictment on social media.
“I will not allow American democracy to be undermined. It’s too important. Investigators and attorneys assigned to this case took the necessary time to throughly piece together the details of the events that began nearly four years ago. They followed the facts where they led and I’m very proud of the work they’ve done to date. We are here because justice demands an answer to the efforts that the defendants and other unindicted co-conspirators allegedly took to undermine the will of Arizona’s voters during the 2020 presidential election. Arizona’s election was free and fair. The people of Arizona elected President Biden.”

Legal system against Trump
This is one more stepping stone in the use of law fare against anything conservative. Governor Ron DeSantis and former Speaker Kevin McCarthy have called in “weaponization”.
Last July Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel charged 16 “fake electors” with eight felonies, among them election law forgery and trying to dispute the 2020 election. In Nevada December 2023 several members of the state’s Republican party were indicted with forging and submitting fake documents that tied into the “fake electors” plot.
All the “fake electors” were acting honestly, believing Trump had won the state. People forgot about the election of 1960 between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon so Republicans brought it up.
Disputed election back then
While Kennedy narrowly won, a recount in Hawaii said Nixon won the state by 140 votes. While the recount was happening, both sides were working. Nixon electors met and cast three electoral votes for him. Kennedy supporters did the same thing.
The wording in the two documents is similar. In that case, Kennedy wound up winning. This all comes as Trump is being run through the wringer for 34 counts of falsifying business records.
