DeSantis Drops Massive Announcement

Florida governor Ron DeSantis is sending manpower to help deal with the tons of illegal immigrants coming over the Texas border since President Biden hasn’t lifted a finger to help. Just last week when Title 42 expired there were 83,000 border crossings. That’s the highest number ever recorded in border history. DeSantis is sending a number of different personnel, including including boats and airplanes.

Florida can help

When the feds refuse. Immigration is felt nationwide, not just Texas. DeSantis put out a statement,

“The impacts of Biden’s Border Crisis are felt by communities across the nation, and the federal government’s abdication of duty undermines the sovereignty of our country and the rule of law. At my direction, state agencies including law enforcement and the Florida National Guard are being deployed to Texas, with assets including personnel, boats and planes. While Biden ignores the crisis he created, Florida stands ready to help Texas respond to this crisis.”

DeSantis is sending 800 National Guard soldiers, 101 highway patrol officers, 200 Dept. of Law enforcement officers, 20 from state fish and wildlife conservation, 20 from emergency management, 17 unmanned aerial vehicles and their teams, 10 vessels, five aircraft with necessary equipment and crew and two mobile command vehicles with their teams.

The Florida border can be a problem too

The state understands in more than one way. DeSantis did a press conference.

“With respect to this border issue, we’ve gotten injunctions on them doing mass releases, and we’re staying on them … because it’s really important issue to actually have sovereignty in our country and have the rule of law upheld. We’ve also, as a state, from really the beginning of the Biden administration, been leaning in on the issue, including helping Texas in the past, and we’ve offered a number of assets, boats, planes, and personnel to help now.”

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has said the opposite, that border crossings have plummeted. Florida and governor DeSantis know better. It’s bad and it’s going to get worse soon.

Florida understands the need for the border wall

The Trump administration built 450 miles of that wall but the huge majority of that was replacing old barriers. If elected President, DeSantis will help to finish it.

Only 85 miles of new border wall were built where there wasn’t something existing there to begin with. There’s 52 miles of primary wall and 33 miles of secondary wall that are new.
