Recently, reports have come in from Iranian pro-regime media that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei held a meeting with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh on an undisclosed date. News of this meeting was widely expected after it had previously been reported on however, it was only officially announced by Fars News and Tasnim News in Iran on Sunday, November 5.
The meeting between Haniyeh and the Supreme leader was to discuss various topics about the current state of affairs in Gaza as well as accuse Israel of “crimes” against Palestinians. Additionally, there were talks concerning developments in the West Bank region.
According to reports from Iranian media outlets, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his appreciation for the patience and perseverance of Gazans and condemned any acts of violence committed by Israeli forces with assistance from US-aligned countries in Western nations.

It appears that this meeting is part of a larger plan by Iran to unite Muslim countries together in their opposition to US policy as well as Israel. There have been recent protests against America at Turkey, while Iran has also sought out relations with Qatar (which hosts Haniyeh), Russia, China, Norway and other nations over this weekend alone – all of which are part of this anti-American front that they’re looking to create.
Furthermore, Hassan Nasrallah’s speech recently seemed to back down on launching an attack on Israel which may be further evidence that these countries could be trying to form a united front against US interference rather than directly attacking each other.
The Associated Press News reported on the meeting:
“Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency says the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
The date of the meeting was not disclosed in the report on Sunday.
According to IRNA, Khamenei praised the patience and endurance of the people of Gaza and emphasized Iran’s policy in supporting the Palestinians in the war between Israel and Hamas.
Khamenei urged Islamic countries and international organizations to take serious actions in support of Gaza’s people.
Israel’s military last week accused Haniyeh, who lives in exile, of flying to Iran on a “private jet” as the people of Gaza suffer in a devastating Israeli offensive against Hamas.
Israel accuses Iran of destabilizing the region by supporting proxies like Hamas and the Hezbollah group in Lebanon.”
