According to the Detroit Police Department, there were multiple stab wounds found on her body and she was pronounced deceased at the scene. There are currently no arrests nor has a press conference been scheduled yet.
A ‘trace of blood’ reportedly led officers to her residence where they discovered her body. It is unknown whether this murder had any connection to unrest in the Middle East or if it was politically motivated.
No crime motive has been disclosed by police as their investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Section of the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-2260 for further assistance with their investigation into this tragedy.
Samantha Woll’s work included numerous Democratic legislators such as Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin whom she supported during her re-election campaign, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel who described herself as ‘shocked, saddened and horrified’ at her death and many more political figures who paid tribute to her after learning about this tragedy.
Her legacy lives on through those whose lives she touched during her short life dedicated to building understanding across faiths, bringing light in the face of darkness according to Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin whom praised Woll saying: “She did for our team as Deputy District Director what came so naturally to her: helping others & serving constituents.”
Her synagogue expressed shock at her abrupt ‘unexpected’ passing saying: “We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President,” adding that “May her memory be a blessing.”
