In what is being labelled the 12th knowing biting incident according to Daily Mail, President Joe Biden’s German Shepherd Commander was seen yet again biting someone. The most recent incident was with a Secret Service agent, now its with White House staffer Dale Haney.
Commander first came to the White House on December 20, 2021 as a birthday gift from James and Sara Biden.
A series of biting incidents have occurred since Biden took office, including one on September 13th where Commander bit another White House staffer who was simply playing with the dog. This incident has raised serious questions about how dangerous and unpredictable life at the White House can be.

In an attempt to explain away the aggressive behavior of their beloved family pet, White House sources attempted to place blame on the Secret Service agents in charge of protecting the president. They asserted that Commander mainly targets members of his security detail due to their supposed “unfriendly expressions” sparking even more controversy surrounding this issue.
The most serious attack happened in November 2022 when an officer was hospitalized after being bitten by Commander multiple times on their arms and thighs leading many people to raise concerns about safety within the grounds of the White House.
Emails obtained show that there were ten other biting incidents reported within four months prior to this one as well as other reports from staff warning that an attack could happen soon if something wasn’t done about it. Elizabeth Alexander, communications director for First Lady Jill Biden made a statement last week saying they are “working through new training and leashing protocols for the family pet following the incidents”.
However, former USSS agent Jonathan Wackrow said last week that this isn’t enough, calling Commander’s biting spree a “significant hazard” and said something needs to be done immediately for everyone’s safety before someone gets seriously injured or worse.
