A tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening at the $12 million mansion owned by the Obama family in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

A 43-year-old paddleboarder went missing after appearing to struggle and submerge in the waters near the estate.

An extensive search operation involving various agencies was launched but failed to locate him Sunday night.

Sadly, his body was discovered Monday morning following a renewal of efforts that included divers, marine assets and aerial support.

At approximately 7:46 PM on Sunday, an alert was raised by a companion who had been paddle boarding with the victim when he suddenly submerged and failed to resurface.

The distress call and dispatch address were linked to Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard home however, it is uncertain if the former president or his family were present at this time.

The search effort involved multiple organizations such as Edgartown Fire Department, other island fire departments, local police force, State Police patrols, Air Wing Team, detectives from Dukes County Sheriff’s Department and US Coast Guard personnel.

Unfortunately their attempts were hindered by darkness and vastness of the pond.

The search resumed at dawn on Monday with further assistance from Massachusetts State Police Underwater Recovery Unit and Massachusetts Environmental Police officers who used side-scan sonar technology from boats for underwater imaging.

In addition they received aerial support from helicopter crews provided by both MSP (Massachusetts State Police) and US Coast Guard teams which enabled them to get a bird’s eye view of what lay below them in order to aid their mission more effectively.

Shortly before 10 AM Monday morning divers located the body of the missing man about 100 feet away from shore at a depth of 8 feet.

The investigation into why this tragedy occurred will be conducted jointly by Edgartown Police Force along with Cape & Islands District Detective Unit belonging to State Police Force.

Further details are expected after official statement is released later.

UPDATE: The man has been identified as 45-year-old Tafari Campbell from Dumfries, Virginia who worked as sous chef for White House when he first met Barack Obama family.
