Daytime TV Actor Billy Miller Dead at 43

Billy Miller, a well-known star of General Hospital and The Young and the Restless, passed away at 43 on Friday, September 15 in Austin, Texas. Miller’s representatives have stated that he was struggling with ‘manic depression’ at the time of his death.

His passing occurred two days prior to his 44th birthday and he is survived by his mother Patricia and sister Megan.

Miller had worked in the mailroom at Industry Entertainment before being signed as a model to Wilhelmina. He had graduated with a communication degree from the University of Texas and moved to Los Angeles for work opportunities.

Miller made his debut in soap operas with All My Children where he played Richie Novak before joining The Young and the Restless in 2008 where he played Billy Abbott for six years. During this time, he won three Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

After leaving The Young and the Restless in 2014, Miller joined General Hospital as Jason Morgan/Drew Cain where he stayed until 2019 when he left as series regular.

In addition to soap operas, Miller also had credits on Showtime’s Ray Donovan, Meghan Markle’s show Suits, Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told alongside Octavia Spencer who shared her tribute to him on Instagram saying she was ‘speechless’.

Fans have since taken social media expressing their condolences about this tragic loss of life with many paying tribute to his acting career which touched so many lives around the world.
