How can a healthy 18-year-old basketball star suffer a cardiac arrest?
That is what everyone is wondering today after the news came out of LeBron James’ son, Bronny.
During a workout at USC, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest… and I know you guys know what I am thinking.
It Just Keeps Happening
This is not a one-time fluke, as we have seen young athletes collapse and/or die across the country.
I just don’t recall this happening before the pandemic, so something here is clearly wrong and we need answers.
The James family confirmed the heart attack via a family spokesperson.
The spokesperson stated, “Yesterday while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest.
“Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.
“We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.
“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
Bronny has committed to USC and is expected to make an immediate impact.
The new rule in the NBA now requires players to spend at least one year in school, so his career there is likely to be short as long as he is healthy.
Assuming he lives up to his potential, we are only a season away from seeing a father and son duo compete either against each other or with each other for a title.
There have been other father and son NBA players, but they have never been on the court at the same time, and I would imagine that LeBron’s ego will keep him on the court long enough to make history.
