Conservatives were infuriated to learn on Tuesday that Hunter Biden is quietly being let off the hook. His lawyers seem to think it gets the entire Biden family out of their bribery charges, too. It all depends on what the original instructions to his Special Prosecutor were. Merrick Garland has been hiding that from Congress. Now, we know why.
Hunter free and clear
Hunter Biden is about to get one of the FBI’s get out of jail free cards. They have special ones printed up with Hillary Clinton’s face on them. All the crimes revealed by his notorious laptop are about to be erased like they never existed. The only hope we have left for real “justice” is that the judge won’t approve the obvious “sweetheart” plea bargain.
Something’s really wrong when the defendant gets to pick and choose his sentence before he’s even been formally charged with the crimes. Not only that, the charges are minor ones. The Just Us Department should be filing ones which are a whole lot worse. Democrats never seem to be charged with anything major, for some strange reason. On top of that, by pleading guilty to the lesser crimes, the big ones can never be charged again. That’s “double jeopardy.”
Brett Tolman knows a thing or two about the laws involved. That’s because he used to be U.S. attorney for the District of Utah. As soon as he heard the news, he hit the ceiling.

The “generous” plea deal offered to Hunter Biden is a “laughable joke,” he insists, because “anyone else would be facing multiple years in federal prison.” Biden isn’t set to serve a single day.
On Tuesday, June 20, “U.S. Attorney David Weiss submitted a letter to the district clerk’s office in Delaware announcing that his team had reached an agreement with Hunter Biden and his attorneys that will allow him to avoid jail time.” Plea deals don’t get much sweeter than this. Under the terms of the agreement, Biden “will plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts of failing to pay federal income taxes. He will also accept a pretrial diversion program for his firearms violation.”
All the alleged influence peddling, hookers and pedophilia charges mysteriously vanish in a puff of crack smoke. They don’t say a word about how he obtained the money he failed to pay taxes on or the way he tried to hide it under his web of shell companies.
Violating their own rules
Even more outrageous, the DOJ is breaking their own rules to do this deal. Somebody needs to inform the judge who gets to sign off on the diabolical pact that “DOJ is violating its own internal policies on this case. The Ashcroft Memo requires they charge the ‘highest provable offense‘ and seek consistent sentences with other cases brought by DOJ. This prosecution is an absolute laughable joke.”
Anyone not named Hunter Biden would be “sent to prison for long terms for the same charges.” Thousands already have.
As Tolman explains, they’re “ignoring decades of policy and precedent to seek felonies not misdemeanors and seek sentences within the guideline range.” The diversion agreement they offered Hunter Biden on the felony “is offensive to everyone not politically connected who sought diversions and were literally laughed at by DOJ.”

Since Biden “brandished” his firearm “during the commission of a drug crime,” he would be looking at a mandatory minimum of 7 years in fed prison. “DOJ could also add on top mandatory minimum possession of child pornography if any of the girls were underage, plus on top of that years for tax evasion.”
Thousands of people, Tolman tweeted out, “have been prosecuted under Project Safe Neighborhoods by DOJ. They brag about getting nearly 5 years of prison time on average for their gun cases. If they followed policy, Hunter would be looking at a minimum of 5 years in federal prison. But he’s a Biden.”
Any prosecutor in America could “prove that Hunter Biden was distributing or dealing drugs while in possession of a firearm.” That, right there, Tolman points out, is a really common case. “Such charges were brought against thousands in inner cities across the country for last 20 years. Mandatory minimum sentences for all. Except Hunter.“
