Breaking: We Are One Step Closer to Getting Rid of Biden

On Thursday, the House of Representatives fast tracked a bill calling for the impeachment of Joe Biden. The fancy footwork may be moving on the double but it’s a long road to the final goal. The next steps will take place in two big oversight related committees.

Biden impeachment passed

On Thursday, June 22, the House of Representatives formally referred an impeachment effort against Joe Biden. In a vote of 219-208, the chamber approved opening the file and letting the Judiciary and Homeland Security committees take it from there.

The process has the advantage of being a quick way to get the job done but there are numerous pitfalls which the Democrat biased media are already pointing out.

The articles of impeachment were introduced by Colorado conservative lawmaker Lauren Boebert. Her resolution cites “dereliction of duty” and “abuse of power.” Both are tied to Joe Biden’s handling of the mass migrant parole fiasco. “Since his first day in office, President Biden has trampled on the Constitution through his dereliction of duty,” Boebert declared on the House floor. “Every member should vote to hold President Joe Biden accountable.

Washington Post notes that “by introducing the measure as a privileged resolution, Boebert bypassed the traditional legislative process and fast-tracked the bill directly to the House floor.” Not only that, “the action also forced lawmakers to vote on the measure within two days.” That method comes with a down side as Washington Post was quick to point out.

Mark Green, Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee promised the press that they “will dig deeply into it. I take very seriously our oversight responsibility and we’re going to hold people accountable.” The committee’s ranking Democrat, Bennie Thompson, wasn’t so enthused.

He called it “yet another attempt by Republicans to distract from the legal peril facing their twice-impeached, twice-indicted party leader.” Impeachment should only be the beginning, conservative Americans scream. They want handcuffs and prison sentences. Maybe even a good old fashioned hanging. If constitutionally indicated, of course.

Homeland Security jurisdiction

Jim Jordan, who serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, suggested that Homeland Security take “primary jurisdiction” for the Biden impeachment resolution since the charges fall under their domain.

While it had plenty of support to move forward to the next steps, “Boebert’s move was a surprise to leadership and the rest of the conference when she formally introduced her privileged resolution Tuesday evening.

The so called far-right MAGA Republicans are thrilled with the effort and behind it completely but their RINO inclined colleagues have gone into panic mode.

Even so, by taking the moderate, middle of the road approach of sending impeachment articles to committee for fine tuning, Democrats in disguise don’t have a whole lot to complain about. This will give conservatives a chance to build a “more concrete case against Biden.

A full on vote right now to charge Biden would have fallen flat at this stage of the game. Sending it to committee legitimizes the effort and will strengthen the chances of victory in the long run.

Speaker McCarthy and House Republicans are committed to fulfilling regular order and undertaking investigations prior to taking up the serious constitutional duty of impeachment.
