Lori Lightfoot’s days in the mayor’s office are just about over.
On her way out the door, however, she decided to fire one more shot at Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
Lightfoot, again, asked him to stop sending migrants to Chicago.
I think we all know what his answer will be.
Please!
Lightfoot’s letter, in part, stated, “Nearly all the migrants have been in dire need of food, water, and clothing and many needed extensive medical care.
“Some of the individuals you placed on buses were women in active labor, and some were victims of sexual assault. None of these urgent needs were addressed in Texas.
“Instead, these individuals and families were packed onto buses and shipped across the country like freight without regard to their personal circumstances.”
Lightfoot is whining because Abbott has sent about 8,000 people to her, which is about what Texas is seeing every single day right now.
The Texas system is about to collapse from the weight of these migrants, with numerous border cities having already or getting ready to declare a state of emergency.
The bad news is that next week, Title 42 ends and they are going to flood over that border as soon as it does.
So, no, Mayor Lightfoot, I don’t think we will be able to grant your request.
