Biden has found another Donald Trump order that he has managed to place in the shredder.
This is not actual legislation, but Trump’s desire to redo the Air Force One paint scheme.
Rather than changing Air Force One over to the colors of the American flag, Biden has changed the order to allow the plane to remain the same robin’s egg blue it was since Jackie Kennedy chose the color.
Not Happening
I have a feeling this was more about Air Force One not looking like Trump’s private plane than anything else.
The new paint job would have made Trump’s personal plane look liked it was part of the presidential fleet, and I am pretty sure that thought occurred to him when he made the change.
There is also some practicality to the order.
The Air Force notified Biden that the plane would take longer to get ready with the different paint scheme, and they are already not scheduled to be done until 2027, and 2028 for the second plane.
So, Jackie K’s legacy will live on.
Actually, it will be the legacy of French industrial designer Raymond Loewy.
He was the man the Kennedys brought in as a consultant to design the plane so it would not look like part of the military.
