After Kevin McCarthy won Speaker of the House, he planned a trip.
Not to be done by Nancy Pelosi, McCarthy was going to go to Taiwan to have his picture taken.
I did not support the expensive photo-op when Pelosi did it and I was against McCarthy going.
Well, McCarthy just canceled his trip.

With tensions very high with China, McCarthy decided it would be best to invite Taiwan officials here for a meeting rather than going over the pond.
A trip like this would normally be expensive, but due to tensions, military assets would have to be moved into place as well.
We are talking about a huge coordinated effort just so McCarthy can stroke his ego.
If he really thinks his boots being on the ground will deter China from striking, well, he is a complete and utter moron.
McCarthy’s office has yet to offer up any details, but Taiwan officials stated, “We shared some intelligence about what the Chinese Communist Party is recently up to and the kinds of threats they pose.”
So, rather than poke the bear more than Democrats have already done, the meeting will now take place here.
