Yet another train derailment has resulted in significant loss of life.
This time, however, it was not in the United States.
Greek officials reported of a head-on collision between a passenger train and freight train that left passenger cars strewn all over the side of the tracks.
So far, at least 36 people have been reported dead.
Tragedy Strikes
Deputy Health Minister Mina Gaga stated, “This is a terrible tragedy that is hard to comprehend.
“I feel so sorry for the parents of these kids.”
The passenger train reportedly had roughly 350 people aboard.
Many of them were students who were attending a three-day festival.
Exactly what happened remains to be seen.
However, even with the injury and death toll right now, it is among the worst in the country’s history.
Those numbers, sadly, could go up even higher.
Authorities reported there are still about five dozen people that are unaccounted for.
