In the last few weeks, we have seen a rash of attacks against politicians on both sides of the aisle.
A New Jersey councilwoman was shot and killed, as was a New Jersey councilman.
Additionally, Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) was assaulted in DC.
That man has been taken into custody.
Crazy Attacks
In the two New Jersey cases, one of the murderers is still on the loose, while the other took his own life.
In the Craig case, police were able to find the alleged attacker and take him into custody on Thursday.
Chief of Staff Nick Coe stated, “This morning around 7:15 a.m., Rep. Craig was assaulted in the elevator of her apartment building in Washington, D.C.
“Rep. Craig defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but is otherwise physically okay.”
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stated, “Angie is tough as nails — she immediately got back to work and voted on the House floor.
“I’m glad to have met with her this morning and hear she’s doing well.”
It will be interesting to see how this attacker is penalized considering DC has been lowering sentencing for crimes such as this that take place against citizens.
Let’s see if there is a two-tiered justice system.
