If you happened to catch Ron Klain’s transition event at the White House, amid his crying, you may have picked up on something.
Klain more or less confirmed that Joe Biden will be running for office again in 2024.
Upon his exit as Biden’s Chief of Staff, Klain promised to be back in 2024.
Joe’s Running
The White House has been pretty shady about what Joe is going to do.
However, this his current barnstorming tour to tout his “accomplishments,” the general feeling is that Biden is going to run again.
Klain confirmed that by running off at the mouth in the transition event over to Jeff Zients.
He stated, “As I did in 1988, 2008 and 2020, I look forward to being on your side when you run for president in 2024.”
That seems pretty certain that a decision has been made.
That is bad news for the likes of Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris, more than likely the two favorites in the party to run again if Joe decide to step back.
So, the good news is that Joe Biden is running.
The bad news is that, right now, Donald Trump is the favorite to win the GOP nod, and he is probably the only person any Democrat even has a remote chance to win.
Trump has already hinted that he will not back the nominee if it is not him, and there is also worry he will run as a 3rd party candidate, doing nothing more than assuring Democrats of a win.
Even if Trump does get the nod, there could be some factions of the GOP that decide to run a candidate as a 3rd party candidate to defeat Trump.
Either way, I see a very tough road for the GOP to win the White House in 2024.
The only true way that happens is if Trump willingly takes a back seat and supports the GOP nominee, otherwise, we have a coin flip at best.
