Florida School Boards Turned Red

It starts with the young in school. With the effort of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the 1776 Project PAC, 25 out of 30 candidates he endorsed were elected to the boards.

Florida parents are fed up with what has happened in education. The school boards in five counties went red: Sarasota County, Clay, Duval, Miami-Dade, and Martin County. Little by little the foundation the kids are raised on will change.

School needs to be basic

DeSantis was excited about the outcome, “We were able to win school board victories all across the state of Florida. Parents are sick of the nonsense when it comes to education.”

Ryan Girdusky, 1776 Project PAC founder, agreed, “We saw massive election victories all throughout the state of Florida tonight. It shows the desire of parents and residents across the country for some normalcy in our education system, and that means pushing against transgender ideology, critical race theory, critical gender ideology, and equity which destroys merit in education.”

For one school the choice was easy

Sarasota County was 3-2 with a leftist majority. It went 4-1 with the help of DeSantis and 1776 Project PAC.

Bridget Ziegler, Robyn Marinelli, and Timothy Enos all won. Marinelli spoke of DeSantis, “Him coming and endorsing us made the community aware of what was at stake. … I think it sends a very clear message that our community was tired of what was going on.”

The school will benefit

By having sound minds in positions of authority.

Ziegler agreed, “Governor DeSantis realizes how important education is. … I think Governor DeSantis shined a light on the school boards; the reality is that you have people across the country and in the state who are engaged and aware that we are fed up.”

Clay County has five seats on its board. Three of them flipped with Erin Skipper, Michele Hanson, and Ashley Gilhousen getting elected.

DeSantis stood behind Charlotte Joyce and April Carney in Duval County. They won their seats. Miami-Dade County now has the largest school district in the country with a conservative board with the election of DeSantis-endorsed Roberto Alonso and Monica Colucci.

Finally, Martin County had three candidates endorsed by the PAC that won their seats, Christina Li Roberts, Jennifer Russell, and Amy Pritchett.
