Rep. Scott Perry was traveling recently and was approached by three FBI agents who presented a warrant and demanded his cellphone. Just the day prior, President Trump’s Florida home was raided. Merrick Garland’s DOJ is behind these two events and only Republicans are talking about it. Democrats are silent. This wasn’t necessary either. Perry also pointed out 87,000 new IRS agents were hired.
FBI tactics
Perry said in a statement,
“This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I’m outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress. My phone contains info about my legislative and political activities, and personal/private discussions with my wife, family, constituents, and friends. None of this is the government’s business.”
Perry continued, “as with President Trump last night, DOJ chose this unnecessary and aggressive action instead of simply contacting my attorneys. These kinds of banana republic tactics should concern every Citizen — especially considering the decision before Congress this week to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to further persecute law-abiding Citizens.”

The FBI is walking down this road
Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky shared the news report and remarked, “The Biden regime is out of control.” President Trump issued a statement regarding having his home raided. He said,
“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections.”
As expected, the FBI isn’t talking. Perry has been a Congressman for five terms and is an original member of the House Freedom Caucus. He’s now their leader.
On the radar
Perry is a person of interest for the January 6 committee. He spoke with Trump a number of times before the Capitol was stormed.
There could be information on his cell phone the FBI and the January 6 committee thinks could damage the two Republicans. At least Perry thinks this is politically motivated.
