As is already obvious to many on the right, Joe Biden’s White House Press Secretary is incredibly incompetent. Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy made this even more apparent after roasting her during a January 25 press conference.
Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki why travel bans that were extended and expanded by Joe Biden aren’t considered “xenophobic.”
“When President Trump was imposing travel restrictions in March, specifically on China, then-candidate Biden called it ‘xenophobic’ and ‘fearmongering.’ So now-President Biden is putting travel restrictions on people coming in from other countries,” Doocy told Psaki.
“What word do we use to describe that?” he asked.
Psaki’s Long-Winded Non-Answer
The press secretary immediately went into defense mode, saying that Doocy framed Biden’s statements inaccurately.
“Well, I don’t think that’s quite a fair articulation. The President has been clear that he felt the Muslim ban was xenophobic. He overturned the Muslim ban,” Psaki responded, ignoring the fact the specific statement by Biden that Doocy was referring to about travel bans being “xenophobic” was in regards to COVID travel restrictions, not the so-called “Muslim ban.”
“He also, though, has supported … even before he was inaugurated — steps, travel restrictions in order to keep the American people safe to ensure that we are getting the pandemic under control. That’s been part of his policy,” she added.
“But he was critical of the former president for having a policy that was not more comprehensive than travel restrictions. And he conveyed at the time, and more recently, the importance of having a multifaceted approach — mask wearing, vaccine distribution funding in order to get 100 million shots in the arms of Americans in the first hundred days, not just travel restrictions,” Psaki continued.
Biden announced on January 25 that he will be extending the Trump administration’s COVID travel restrictions, and adding South Africa to the list.
On March 18, 2020, President Donald Trump sent out a tweet discussing his decision to block travel from China to slow the spread of coronavirus.
“I always treated the Chinese Virus very seriously, and have done a very good job from the beginning, including my very early decision to close the ‘borders’ from China – against the wishes of almost all. Many lives were saved. The Fake News new narrative is disgraceful & false!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Quote-tweeting Trump’s post, Biden wrote, “Stop the xenophobic fear-mongering. Be honest. Take responsibility. Do your job.”

If the COVID travel ban was “xenophobic” in March, why is it okay now? Probably because the country is now run by Democrats.
