There was a time in history when beefs between politicians were settled like men.

We almost saw a flashback of the good old days when Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) and Teamsters President Sean O’Brien came face to face again.

The hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee was the first time the two have faced off since O’Brien called out Mullin in the media for his bravado.

Let’s Dance

Mullin, in case you are not aware, is a former MMA fighter.

He fought in the Xtreme Fighting League, winning all three of his fights.

Two of the wins were by submission, with the third being by TKO.

Mullin and O’Brien have had words before, which led to this moment…

This would not have been the first fight in Congress, although I believe it would have been between a Senator and a witness.

In 1838, Representatives Jonathan Cilley and William Graves had a duel, with Graves killing Cilley in the third round.

Both congressmen failed to hit their target in the first two rounds.

In 1856, Rep. Preston Brooks entered the Senate chamber and nearly beat Senator Charles Sumner to death with a cane.

I have to say, I almost felt sorry for Senator Sanders (I-VT) but I have to admit, I would really like to see those two guys go at it.
