Yanking the fire alarm as a distraction was such a childish move it should cost Democrat lawmaker Jamaal Bowman his job. Before he became a lawbreaker, Bowman was a High School Principal. He knew all about emergency drills. What he pulled was the same sort of stunt one of his juvenile delinquent students would have tried, to get out of taking a math test. His excuse makes no sense. If he really believes it, that means he’s incompetent to be doing his job in the first place.
Pulled fire alarm by mistake
If Democrats actually believe the ridiculous nonsense that Jamaal Bowman is spewing about the fire alarm incident that happened on Saturday, September 30, then our nation really is in jeopardy. Democrats seem to be able to get away with anything they want because laws don’t apply to them. Especially not to the ones who make those laws.
The New York socialist was caught in the act on security camera. Since there wasn’t any emergency, House rules section 22–1319 regarding “False alarms and false reports; hoax weapons” says he’s in a lot of trouble. At least, he should be.
First, Bowman calls pulling the big red fire alarm buzzer on the wall an “innocent mistake.” He makes it sound like he was reaching for the elevator button and hit the wrong one by mistake. Oops, “my bad.” Conservatives are already “expressing anger over the fact he hasn’t been arrested.”
Jamaal Bowman made a statement that he thought this lever would open the door, and is asking everyone to calm down.

While Republicans howl in outrage, Democrats trip over themselves to help Bowman shrug it off. There really was an emergency, they weakly joke, they were about to call a House vote on stopping the shutdown.
As soon as the fertilizer hit the fan, his chief of staff, Sarah Iddrissu got dragged out to face the media. She couldn’t handle looking reporters in the eye so tapped it out on social media.
“Congressman Bowman did not realize he would trigger a building alarm as he was rushing to make an urgent vote. The Congressman regrets any confusion.” The non-Democrat half of America is puzzled to know what it was he thought that red switch marked “Fire Alarm” was supposed to do. Shoot rainbow sprinkles from the ceiling?
Prosecuted and imprisoned
Just exactly when will “Congressman Bowman be prosecuted and imprisoned for very dangerously pulling and setting off the main fire alarm system in order to stop a Congressional vote that was going on in D.C.,” rightful President Donald Trump demands to know.
“It was a very dangerous ‘Obstruction of an Official Proceeding,‘ the same as used against our J-6 prisoners. Actually, his act may have been worse.”
Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene added a few observations of her own along those lines. “Jamaal Bowman must be treated exactly the same as January 6 defendants. He was a school principal. He knows exactly what pulling a fire alarm means. He did it while the Dems were trying to stall for time for the Senate and the Dem whip had just called for a motion to adjourn.”

As he sat in interrogation by the Administration Committee investigators, he tried to claim that he thought hitting the panic button would make the door open faster, not trigger chaos in the entire building. Maybe that’s how his school was set up and why nobody knows how to read in the current crop of graduates.
The way Donald Trump Jr. sees it. “If they don’t charge Rep Bowman, with a crime for endangering the lives of those in the capitol & obstructing congressional proceedings then they better let every single J6er that’s rotting in prison for nonviolent offenses out with an apology & compensation right f—ing now!”
Pulling the fire alarm to “obstruct an official government proceeding is illegal under federal law punishable by fines and ‘not more than 20 years.‘“
