It’s no secret that Democratic Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and her fellow “Squad” members have repeatedly called for defunding the police.
But while they are advocating to reduce funding for law enforcement, it has recently been revealed that these very same individuals have spent over a million dollars in campaign funds on private security.
According to a recent article from the New York Post, Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri stands out as having paid out more than $730,000 on private security services since first running for Congress in 2019 – with some of those funds going to her own husband.
Meanwhile, AOC is not far behind in terms of spending, having spent close to $273,000 on security upgrades at her district offices since taking office in 2019.
Of course she did. Because they never live the lives and situations that we mere little people have to live. She is much more “valuable” and “important” to put herself in that situation.

It seems clear that when it comes down to it, Democrats on the far left – including AOC and the squad – view their safety as more important than anyone else’s.
After all, why should they be worried about cutting police budgets when they already have access to personal protection?
It is concerning that this kind of self-interest appears to be so rampant within our political system today.
And while there is certainly nothing wrong with wanting an extra layer of safety for oneself or one’s family members, it is hard not to see this situation as hypocritical given their calls for defunding the police across America.

Three words come immediately to mind: Defund AOC!
It’s time we put a stop to such blatant hypocrisy within our government and make sure everyone plays by the same rules regardless of party affiliation or political views.
