Donald Trump hit the campaign trail.
Trump was giving his first official rally speech in Iowa.
The speech was supposed to be about education.
However, it ended up being a DeSantis attack.
Silence
Trump has become obsessed with DeSantis, so this pivot in terms of the speech was not exactly a surprise.
Trump stated, “You have to remember, Ron was a disciple of Paul Ryan, who is a RINO loser who currently is destroying Fox [News] and would constantly vote against entitlements.
“But Ryan, Paul Ryan is a big reason Mitt Romney … lost his election.
“And to be honest with you, Ron reminds me a lot of Mitt Romney, so I don’t think you’re going to be doing so well here.”
Keep in mind, when Ryan was running for office, Trump called him a “good man” and endorsed his campaign.
Something not a lot of people are talking about is how that segment of the speech bombed.
It was eerily silent for a Trump rally when he hit DeSantis and what Trump probably meant to be funny digs were met with silence.
Trump did not get the message, however, because he put out another attack video against DeSantis the next day.
If he does not start talking issues rather than DeSantis, he is going to miss the boat.
