Our Air Force is about to get a new toy.
At the 2023 Air and Space Forces Warfare Symposium, the new B-21 Raider was unveiled.
Let me tell you, that is one hell of a plane!
Now That is a Plane!
It is no secret that our military is aged.
We still have B-52s in service, so our bomber fleet is in need of some major upgrades.
Well, we are about to get it.
The upgrade to the bomber fleet is coming in the way of the B-21 Raider.
This is a stealth bomber that will take over as the primary bomber the Air Force uses.
General Thomas A. Bussiere, commander of the Air Force Global Strike Command, announced the new bomber.
Secretary Austin offered up his take…
He stated, “The technologies that are integrated, and the open architecture system will provide any potential capabilities to advance, modernize and keep that weapon system on the leading edge of a threat in the future.”
If the 2010 estimate still holds true, converted to today’s dollar, they will have a price tag of $750 million each.
Yes, it is a lot of money, but I am all for it rather than seeing our military assets shipped over to Ukraine.
At least this way, the American people are getting a little something for their money.
