It is no wonder the Secret Service Director was able to hold her post for as long as she did.
Reports are breaking now that whistleblowers came forward to tell members of Congress that resources had been diverted away from Trump’s event to cover other events.
There are also reports that some of the agents on the detail were not even Secret Service agents.
Truth or Rumor
Whenever we have an event like this that takes place, all kinds of misinformation starts to flow around the internet, and this was no different.
This time, however, it would seem that people inside the Secret Service were fed up with Director Cheatle and spilling their guts to the media.
For instance, last week, RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree dropped a bit of a bombshell about the staffing during Trump’s event.
She posted, “Secret Services resources were diverted to Jill Biden’s event and away from Trump’s because they followed agency protocol applying to Trump as a former president, according to two sources within the Secret Service community.
“But Trump is not just a former president — he is the first in modern history to have run for president again — and he has been the focus of several prosecutions and controversies (understatement intentional).
“Who made the decision to divert the resources to Jill Biden’s event?”
Then Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) posted a letter he had sent to FBI Director Wray, who is running the investigation into the assassination, about information received from a whistleblower.
In part, Jordan’s letter stated, “Law enforcement overlooked a number of vulnerabilities prior to and during the event, allowing an assassin to shoot a President, murder an attendee, and critically wound two others.”
Cheatle has already resigned, but do not be surprised to see her charged at some point.
