Last week, the Republican National Convention was held and Donald Trump was confirmed as the nominee for the GOP.
That was hardly the big event of the week at the convention, though.
Something I found a bit juicier was a group of Republican Senators cornering the Director of the Secret Service.
Hold Her Accountable
It seems like every time I watch the video of Trump being shot and moved off stage, I see another screw-up by his security detail that day.
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) was among a group of GOP Senators who wanted answers for those mistakes and the many others made up to that point.
When they spotted Director Kimberly Cheatle schmoozing with guests at a hospitality suite, they unleashed on her.
Afterward, when Blackburn appeared on Fox News, she stated, “She’s going to have to come forward. She can run, but she cannot hide.
“She has to provide these answers. She should be fired.
“She should have been fired Saturday night.”
You can see her full interview and the confrontation in the video below…
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi then responded, “Continuity of operations is paramount during a critical incident and U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has no intentions to step down.
“She deeply respects members of Congress and is fiercely committed to transparency in leading the Secret Service through the internal investigation and strengthening the agency through lessons learned in these important internal and external reviews.”
Joe Biden should have fired this woman as soon as the procedural breakdowns were announced, and it has only gotten worse with every passing day.
There is no way this woman is capable of doing that job, and she must be replaced immediately.
