Donald Trump has had a huge surge among black voters in polling.
Whether those numbers will convert to votes remains to be seen, but black voters are clearly starting to identify with Trump.
Trump believes that may be because of how the justice system has been used against him, which Kamala Harris finds offensive.
Not My Narrative
Now, Trump did not actually start this narrative. This got started by the media and numerous high-profile black celebrities.
As a matter of fact, just a few weeks ago rapper 50 Cent said that blacks are identifying with Trump because of the RICO charges against him.
Now, Trump is buying into that narrative, which was the line of questioning asked of Kamala Harris.
A clip was played of Trump stating, “I got indicted a second time and a third time and a fourth time, and a lot of people said that that’s why the black people like me because they have been hurt so badly and discriminated against.”
Harris was then asked, “He also says he’s not a racist because he has a lot of black friends.”
Harris responded, “Yeah. Well, on the first point as connected to the second point. it’s insulting.
“It’s insulting for a number of reasons, including he has reduced a whole population of people down to a sum total of what is in his mind who they are, and he’s wrong, and he’s wrong.”
“The Breakfast Club” co-host Charlamagne tha God has also discussed this, stating, “When it comes to black people you see who maybe are showing support for Trump, I think it’s because Trump is actually talking to young black male voters.
“He’s directing ads toward them. They are a group that never get courted.
“Black people don’t get courted either as a whole. But that old Democratic regime speaks to old black men and they think everybody else in the black community and black families are going to fall in line.”
I have talked about this before, saying that Republicans are only going to get one crack at this, so they better get it right if they want to keep these votes.
Right now, it looks like Trump is getting it right.
