Donald Trump has still not committed to a VP choice if he wins the nomination.
We do, however, know who it will not be.
During a recent rally, Trump chastised the entire GOP field, saying he does not see a VP among them.
Who Will It Be?
During a small rally in Michigan on the same night as the GOP debate, Trump stated, “We’re competing with the job candidates, they’re all running for a job. No, they’re all job candidates.
“They want to be in the—they want to, they’ll do anything, secretary of something, they even say VP.
“Does anybody see the VP in the group? I don’t think so.”
Trump held the rally to support UAW striking workers, but he did it at a shop that was a non-union shop, and it was later revealed the people holding signs promoting union workers for Trump were not, in fact, union members.
Since Trump has disqualified the entire GOP field, that leaves us with three, maybe four possible contenders.
Governor Kristi Noem would appear to be the frontrunner.
Up next would be Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.).
I have also heard whispers about Sarah Sanders, the governor of Arkansas, but she only just took office and if she wants a career beyond that, she would be advised to stay in office rather than abandon her post after only two years.
Here is my question, though…
Trump has now alienated the entire GOP field, and if he wins the nomination, how does he get the support of their supporters?
He cannot win this election with only his base, so, at some point, he will have to offer an olive branch of some sort.
