It’s sad to say, but Fox News reporter Trey Yingst is no stranger to war; he’s been a direct witness to the brutality and carnage that comes with it. But when compared to the savagery of the war in Ukraine, he revealed that nothing could have prepared him from the horrific sights in Israel.
He was not prepared for what he saw at Kibbutz Be’eri in Israel this past Saturday – a ghastly scene of carnage that left him speechless and tearing up.
Yingst provided Fox News with a graphic video showing bloody floors, body bags, and bullet-ridden homes – evidence of what he described as a “massacre against Israelis”. He recounted how they had arrived at the site to find beds covered in blood and fridges filled with pictures of children who would never return home.
Driving into Be’eri, Yingst said they passed by the site of an outdoor music festival where more than 250 people were killed. As they got closer to the small community, it became clear that no one could possibly comprehend the horrific scale of death they were about to witness: “You could smell the stench of death in the air on the drive”.
Israeli paramedic Hami Atias shared his own sobering comment: “I thought I’d seen enough but nothing could prepare me for what happened there.” He added that when he arrived onsite there were “bodies lying on the street in huge quantities” and far too few paramedics available to help them all.
Maj Doron Spielman put it well when he compared Be’eri to Auschwitz – “the symbol of this pogrom”.

Eli Hazan told reporters about one particularly heartbreaking scene inside a house: taped onto a door was a list made by someone before their untimely passing – toothbrushes, sandwiches, and hugs from mom written down below it all – yet it was stained with blood.
