This OnlyFans model has recently made headlines after she showed up to the WorldCup wearing what many thought was a very revealing outfit. And while it’s true that she did show off a lot of skin, it has apparently prompted people to send her death threats as a result.
This begs the question – should we be so quick to judge those who choose to express themselves differently?
During her reporting for Great Britain, Astrid Wett revealed quite a bit of skin, and this didn’t sit well with everyone.
People shared comments about how she needed to cover up and that she deserved to be brought to her “execution” for revealing too much skin.
Some were so outraged by what she wore while on camera – a short denim skirt and white bikini top – that they sent negative comments and even GIFs labeled “VAR EXECUTION”.
To make matters worse, Sports Illustrated reporter Grant Wahl also received criticism for his LGBTQ-themed shirt while covering the matches, and he later passed away due to a heart attack just days after attending these games.
It is important to respect cultural differences between countries however, should we be so quick to judge those who choose to dress differently?
Although Qatar is famously conservative when it comes to women’s dress code, it does not mean that Astrid Wett should have changed her behavior because of cultural expectations while visiting this country for work purposes at the world cup.
Death threats are never acceptable and those who have sent them should be ashamed of themselves since it is ultimately up to Wett on what she wants to wear while working, regardless if some find it inappropriate or not.
We should learn not judge others by their appearance but rather through their actions and words which will help create a better environment for everyone involved.
