The long-awaited arrival of FBI Director Wray on the Hill has finally taken place.
Wray was called before Congress to answer questions regarding the blocking of investigations into the Biden family business dealings.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was clearly amped up and ready for battle.
Pure Corruption
When I think of pompous and arrogant, there are two Biden officials that immediately come to mind.
The first is DHS Secretary Mayorkas.
The second is FBI Director Wray, who was actually appointed by Trump.
As Gaetz described a message by Hunter Biden, the smug look on Wray’s face told it all.
As far as he is concerned, these hearings are nothing more than entertainment.
Gaetz clobbered him with one simple question…. “Are you protecting the Bidens?”
That got under Wray’s skin, but Gaetz did not give him time to save face…
This back and forth continued, with Gaetz again calling out Wray near the end of his session.
Gaetz stated, “Instead of straight answers, you give answers that later the court deems are not true. And then at the end of the day you won’t criticize and obvious shakedown when it’s directly in front of us. And it appears as though you’re whitewashing the conduct of corrupt people.”
Wray tried to get cute with his answer, replying, “Respectfully, Congressman, in your home state of Florida the number of people applying to come work for us and devote their lives coming to work for us is up over 100 percent.”
But Gaetz was ready for him, firing right back, “I’m deeply proud of them and they deserve better than you!”
This could be a problem for Trump during the campaign season because you better believe Trump’s opponents are going to use Trump appointing Wray as evidence that he is a bad judge of character.
It will matter little that most people supporting the hiring at the time.
Apparently, Wray had everyone fooled because he is clearly deeply entrenched in the swamp.
