Recently, Tucker Carlson landed a seven-figure advertising deal with Public Square (PublicSq.), a major conservative company that has taken a strong stance against the Environmental, Social and Governance responsibility (ESG) agenda.
Public Square is an app that focuses on consumer spending, aiming to shift away from policies such as DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion), which have been slowly taking hold of the economy in recent years.
This move by Tucker Carlson has some believing it may help bring back some much needed balance to the business world.
The Heritage Foundation has observed that ESG advocates are forcing companies to take positions in political arenas that have nothing to do with their actual business activities. This includes gun rights, fossil fuels and other controversial topics.
According to one Heritage scholar, much of this movement is for “virtue signaling done to elevate the reputations of senior executives” instead of helping those who have invested in their companies.
Another scholar noted it as “a classification system that companies…are using to push the left’s agenda…If you don’t score high enough on their woke meter, you could be canceled.”
It appears then that these movements are really about silencing those with different views rather than promoting any kind of real change or progress in society.
In his interview with Breitbart News Michael Seifert discussed his vision behind his company’s philosophy: “So there’s really this cool parallel economy ecosystem that’s been created…the only way we are going to topple those corrupt philosophies that are destroying our economy is by shifting consumer spending.”
He believes that this type of economic shift will help restore balance within the business world while providing individuals an opportunity to make choices based on their own personal beliefs rather than being pressured into following certain ideologies or agendas set forth by ESG or DEI movements.
Accordingly, since Tucker Carlson began ramping up his presence on Twitter by posting videos reacting and commenting on news stories Fox News sent him a cease and desist letter reminding him he cannot contractually provide content anywhere else until 2024.
However, Carlson’s lawyers simply responded saying their client “will not be silenced by anyone.”
