Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, a former member of Congress, appears to be absolutely clueless.
Once again, it would appear that Biden has appointed someone that has no clue what they are doing.
Haaland was being questioned on how damaging the Biden agenda is to national security, and she actually admitted that this administration was strengthening China’s hold over the United States.
Helping China
Haaland was testifying before the House Appropriations Committee regarding the 2024 budget.
With this big push toward renewable energy, significant minerals will be needed to be mined.
Well, Joe Biden has done several recent land grabs that have removed some of the richest mining areas in this country from the board.
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) hit Haaland on this when she surprisingly agreed with him regarding China.
He stated, “I’m telling you right now that 63% of rare earth mining [occurs in China]. By deductive reasoning, that would mean that electric vehicles and renewables deepen our reliance on China. Correct?”
Haaaland responded, “Yes.”
She would later try to recover from this, but the cat was out the of the bag at his point.
Rep. Zinke (R-MT) also took a swing at her…
Rep. Pete Stauber (R-MN) added, “Whether it’s northern Minnesota, southern Arizona, Alaska, or now South Dakota, these sorts of land restrictions from the anti-mining Biden administration hamstring domestic development of minerals we need for national defense, energy technology, and everyday life.
“We need to be using our resources we have here with our workforce, not taking them offline.”
This administration is about as clueless as it gets.
