As we approach Holy Week, the world may be without the Pontiff to celebrate.
Pope Francis was taken to the hospital earlier this past week.
He has been admitted to treat a lung infection.
Not Looking Good
If you have seen pictures of Pope Francis as of late, you know his health is questionable.
He has gained considerable weight and cannot even get into the Pope Mobile without assistance.
The last pictures I saw, he was clearly uncomfortable and had to have his security team boost him into the car.
In 2021, he had colon surgery, so his health problems are starting to pile up.
The Pope’s spokesman, Matteo Bruni, stated, “The tests showed a respiratory infection (COVID-19 infection excluded) that will require some days of medical therapy.”
This is the busiest of seasons for the Pope, as he would normally oversee Holy Week ceremonies just about every day, but that is now up in the air.
We will see if he gets discharged and is able to carry out his duties on Sunday or if someone fills in for him.
