Kemp

She’s Finally Conceded

Republican Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will triumph over challenger Stacey Abrams this mid term. Kemp was ahead in the polls the entire time. Abrams conceded late Tuesday night. She refused to do that in 2018. Recently, Kemp hasn’t expressed criticism of Trump but was instead grateful for the President’s time in office. Crime, inflation and the economy were among the top concerns for Georgians.

Kemp is the Georgia governor

He had a touch of humor during his victory speech, “Thank y’all so much. It looks like the reports of my political death were greatly exaggerated. Looking at the results tonight, we made sure that Stacey Abrams will not be your governor or your next president.”

He refused to knock Trump. Georgia received a lot of help from the President during COVID, “I appreciate what President Trump did for the state of Georgia. His administration was incredible to work with.”

Kemp focused on different things

In comparison to Abrams. She paid more attention to abortion and cultural issues. She said Kemp would threaten women, healthcare, the LGBTQ community and might even ban some kids from playing with their friends.

Abrams spoke with Oprah during an October event, “If we don’t elect me, we will have no health care for half a million Georgians. Our children will continue to go to underfunded schools where transgender children have been banned from playing with their friends.”

Abrams thought Kemp would change education

She thought government would force an incorrect version of history to be taught. “We will have divisive laws that say that you have to lie to your children about their history.”

Democrats told Georgians that Kemp would sign voter ID into law, keeping certain people from voting. Predictions didn’t scare people though. Over two million people voted by early voting and absentee ballots, breaking records in the process. One voter was Chris, a father of two with a third on the way. He saw the need to vote red all the way, “We must stop the controlled demolition of our country by unchecked Democrat policies. I voted red down the ballot with the exception of Raffensperger since I thought his response to the 2020 election issues was horrendous.”
