The top priority when the Republicans win back control is to impeach Biden. The President hasn’t enforced our borders, effectively dealt with COVID and troop withdrawal from Afghanistan wasn’t done according to best advice. That’s just part of it. Since Democrats control the House impeachment isn’t an option yet. All polls point toward a Red Wave though so planning is being done.

Many resolutions to impeach

There are at least eight. The border is a mess. Without borders no country can exist. Rep. Bob Good put it this way,

“I have consistently said President Biden should be impeached for intentionally opening our border and making Americans less safe. Congress has a duty to hold the President accountable for this and any other failures of his Constitutional responsibilities, so a new Republican majority must be prepared to aggressively conduct oversight on day one.”

The withdrawal from Afghanistan was deadly and unnecessary. Another resolution targeted the corrupt overseas dealings of his son Hunter.

Republicans pushing to impeach

Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene sponsored four impeachment resolutions. Nick Dyer is a spokesman for Greene, he said, “She believes Joe Biden should have been impeached as soon as he was sworn in, so of course she wants it to happen as soon as possible.” It can’t happen soon enough for Taylor-Greene.

Curiously, the push to impeach might be bothering Rep. Kevin McCarthy, in line to be the Speaker of the House. It could alienate more moderate voters. That happened in 1998 when Bill Clinton was impeached so at least one Senator is throwing cold water on it.

But conservatives want to impeach

That shouldn’t be ignored. Trump was impeached twice and that wasn’t right. Neither of them should have happened.

McCarthy knows well enough to not anger those pushing for impeachment. You’ll get pushed out. That happened to John Boehner (R-OH) in 2015. Some Republicans are being more careful. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) thought Biden was unfit for President but stopped short of encouraging impeachment.
