DeSantis to Republicans: Lock and Load

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is providing inspiration and determination to stay focused, to keep your eyes on the prize of remaining free. He spoke at the Sunshine Summit Victory Dinner after speeches and debates with other political leaders. We’re battling a number of things including the COVID problem, border chaos, inflation and critical race theory in schools. He knows what the media will do.

DeSantis says to come alongside him

He knows the media will:

“create a blizzard of lies to blind all of from what’s actually going on. In times like these, it’s not enough to just be right on the issues. Because in times like these, there’s no substitute for courage. You got to have the courage of your convictions to be willing to stand up against the media. You got to have the courage to stand up against things like cancel culture. You got to have the courage to stand up to the woke mob. You got to have the courage to stand in the way of the Brandon administration.”

But be of good cheer. He sees good news for the Republican party.

DeSantis points out the dissatisfaction

From Democrats as well.

“Even people that are not Republicans, and even people that have been voting for Democrats … they see, in their own life, the effect of Biden’s policies. And so they are dissatisfied. And so we have an opportunity to build a massive coalition here in the state of Florida, and I think it’s there for the taking. But you got to be ready for battle. So put on the full armor of God. We are just getting warmed up. I have only begun to fight. I’m standing my ground, walking the line all the way to the finish line, and I can tell you this: with your help, and everybody behind us, there is no doubt in my mind that come November, we are going to keep the state of Florida free.”

The event was controlled. Media was allowed on an “invite-only” basis. “I’m not going to have a bunch of left-wing media asking our primary candidates a bunch of gotcha questions.”

Case in point

ABC’s The View suggested DeSantis was scamming voters. Hardly. Alyssa Farah Griffin was an assistant in the Trump administration and is now a CNN contributor. She commented on his ability to fund raise, “What a lot of these apps and websites do is you click to give once and it actually signs you up to recurringly give. It is so unfair; it is a grift, it is terrible; it is horrible.”

Nice try. DeSantis hit back,

“I got accused by some of these people on one of these shows about, oh you know, he’s raising all of this … and they tried to say that we had auto-donate, where it keeps going every month. We do not do that. We do not do that auto because we don’t want people to have these charges if that’s not something they didn’t agree with. So they tried to act like I was doing that and then some of these media went and said, ‘Wait a minute, he’s not doing that.’ So they were lying about that.”
