Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, authorized legislation on Thursday that will shield the lives of unborn children by forbidding the performance of most abortions if the gestational age of a baby is better than 15 weeks.
DeSantis, a conservative who is looking for re-election during the Sunshine State’s 2022 gubernatorial contest, said that the regulation notes “the most significant protections for life” to be enacted in Florida “in a generation.”

Crist formerly served as Florida Governor from very early 2007 to very early 2011. The political leader was a Republican when he was chosen to function as governor, however, in 2010, he was defeated in a U.S. Senate bid while running as an independent.

The Biden administration decried the state’s pro-life legislation last month, criticizing DeSantis.
“Last night, the Republican-controlled Florida legislature passed a dangerous bill that will severely restrict women’s access to reproductive health care. My Administration will not stand for the continued erosion of women’s constitutional rights,” a tweet on President Joe Biden’s @POTUS Twitter account declared last month.
A declaration from frequent DeSantis critic Kamala Harris explained the Florida legislation as “extreme by any standard.”
A recent Wall Street Journal poll of registered voters that was conducted in very early March discovered that 48% would highly or rather favor a regulation to restrict abortions after 15 weeks of maternity, with exemptions for the expecting female’s health, while 43% would be against such a limitation.
