An MSNBC contributor declared that the federal government could and should take direct control over elections in Republican states. Contributor Jason Johnson claimed that there is an “emergency” which requires federal intervention in red states to ensure that civil liberties are not being violated. Johnson and MSNBC are effectively claiming that future election results will be inherently invalid in majority Republican states unless the feds take over.
Federal assault on red states suggested
The comment is related to popular claims amongst Democrats and the mainstream lying media (enemies of the people, as our former president called them) that Republican efforts to crack down on voter fraud constitute an attack on democracy.
According to leftists, democracy is when literally anyone can vote as many times as they want and wherever they want and citizens have no right to complain about their invalid elections.
No Republican state has instituted any seriously restrictive measures to counter voter fraud, though they probably should. The hysteria is fake news at its finest.
In fact, the red states whose elections MSNBC thinks should be subjected to direct federal control have essentially just attempted to return to the status quo for elections, in which most voting takes place on election day and in person, as has always been the case.
This is all very ironic considering that the rallying cry of the Democrats for the last year has been that Republicans are traitors for questioning election results and “undermining democracy.”
According to the experts at MSNBC all it would take to justify such an intrusion would be an opinion from the White House that there are “concerns” about a state election process.
Democrats aim to consolidate power
Don’t worry if this all sounds insane, Jason Johnson has a precedent to back his claims. He referred specifically to the aftermath of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision.
In that instance the federal government sent heavily armed troops to point rifles at kids and jab bayonets at their backs to threaten their state government and force it to fall in line. Brilliant example, definitely the kind of thing we should be doing more often.
Frighteningly, this is not an entirely imaginary scenario which MSNBC is suggesting. Unless state governments offer some really serious opposition Biden might really be able to send in troops to force states to change their votes in his favor.
Johnson is right; if Eisenhower could send in the army to make states comply then Biden certainly can. The balance of power between the states and the federal government has only shifted in favor of the latter in the last six decades.
The federal government and the Democrats as a whole have already indicated that they will do anything in their power to eliminate election security measures being adopted in Republican states.
If state Republicans do not forcefully and militantly inform the federal government that this will not be tolerated then you may, in the near future, see armed federal agents forcing your state to invalidate your vote.
