The state of Ohio is now required to pay a convicted sex offender $17.5 million in compensation following an incident where prison guards left him paralyzed, which he has boasted about.

After being tackled to the ground and dropped multiple times while handcuffed, 21-year-old Seth Fletcher is now left in a wheelchair, unable to move from the chest down.

The incident took place on April 2, 2020 at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution during a strip search. Prison guards discovered Fletcher carrying a cigarette which they believed was laced with drugs.

After the finding, Fletcher was handcuffed and escorted to a housing unit, however on the way there he had been tackled to the ground, which resulted in a severe spinal cord injury.

Prison guards picked him up by his arms and legs to carry him to the clinic, as he complained he couldn’t feel or move his legs.

Fletcher had just been incarcerated for child sex offenses at the age of 18. According to his lawyer, Fletcher and his girlfriend both consented to making a videotape at the time. Fletcher’s girlfriend was two years younger than him.

Fletcher filed a lawsuit against the prison in April 2017 for negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

One of the three attackers, Garrett Osbon was a prison guard who resigned soon after the incident.

Osbon sent out messages and a Facebook post surrounding the attack saying:

“The dude I broke his nose is now paralyzed with a broken neck, and they say his face looks like he had been dropped and dragged through concrete, LMAO.”

Osbon added, “It feels good to know that I played a small part in paralyzing a cho, LMAO.”

Reports indicate that “cho” refers to a pedophile child in prison lingo.

Fletcher’s lawyer Geoffrey Fieger said “The torture and crippling of a prisoner in America sounds medieval. Yet it happened, here, in America, in 2020.”

‘AWM’ dropped these details about the incident:

Prison guards conducted a strip search on Fletcher on April 2, 2020, when they found him to be in possession of a cigarette that they suspected also contained drugs. Because he was not supposed to be in possession of that, they conducted the search but used too much force on the 21-year-old pedophile.

During the search, Corrections Officers Dustin Knox and Christopher Coy handcuffed Fletcher. They escorted him to a segregated unit at the Ohio facility around 6 pm. At that time, Officer Coy said the prison tried to pull away. The officers quickly tackled him to the ground, which was when Fletcher suffered his spinal cord injury.

Although Fletcher told the guards that he could no longer feel or move his legs, they ignored him and kept dropping him on his face since he could not walk. Eventually, they carried the injured pedophile by his arms to a prison cell where they deposited him on the ground, where he lay alone until 9:49 am the following morning.

Just before ten o’clock, Fletcher received a visit from psychologist Eric Anderson. He found Fletcher to be very injured and called to get him medical attention, which he had been requesting since he was tackled and paralyzed. He was taken to the Ohio State Medical Center, where he underwent emergency spinal surgery.

At one point during the ordeal, Fletcher begged for water. An Ohio prison guard poured water on his face and then bragged about how he “waterboarded him LMAO.”
